The night of
Saturday January 15 ,2011 was a memorable one at City Mall’s upscale
lounge and bar, Swe Bar, as fans, friends and celebrities alike all
turnout to celebrate with 9ice on his birthday. Organised by Sleekbeatz
Entertainment in conjunction with Swe Bar, the event officially kicked
off at around 10:30 pm when the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) award
winning celebrant entered the building. However, before the celebrant’s
arrival to the ‘invited-guests-only’ party, the double roomed lounge
had been bubbling. The bar was already filled with well wishers
boogying to the different numbers from the celebrant spinning from a
resident DJ with medium sized plasma screens, strategically placed in
the bar, all showing muted music videos of 9ice.
At the entrance of
the celebrant, different comedians including Tee A, Seyi Law,Ay and
Alibaba took turns at welcoming the guests in an informal manner,
telling jokes that takes jab at the celebrant , random guests and
fellow comedians without the joke’s subjects ever minding. The party
also witnessed a performance from fast raising Alapomeji’s artistes
including Seriki and the Ajayi Brothers. 9ice made a rendition of the
track, ‘No Be Mistake’ at the request of Alibaba who anchored the
cutting of the cake. Afterwards the hitch free party went on as the DJ
chunk out hits after hits both local and foreign to the delight of the
guests.
Other guest present
were the mop head On Air Personality and singer Tosyn Bucknor, looking
great in her petite sky blue dress; comedian AY; Wazobia presenter Yaw;
2010 Soundcity Africa Music Video Award winning singer, Djinee in his
waist coat; Storm Records singer YQ had on a rosary on his white jacket
and many others.
