After 12yrs, Swith Barry drops album

He could be described as “a new artiste”even though he has sojourned in the nation’s music scene for close to twelve years. But Uche Barry Nwobi a.k.a Swith Barry has more to his music career than meets the eyes.

After twelve years of learning the rope in a hard way, young Swith Barry is stepping out with his first album, which he titled, “Resurrection”. The album containing 11 tracks in all, is being produced under Kaycee Records. Already, the music video have been shot, and currently undergoing editing process.

The Oguta, Imo State born artiste is engrossed in promoting this album which is bound to launch him into the mainstream music world.

Narrating to Sunday Entertainment, Swith Barry said,  “My album is titled Resurrection and it has 11 tracks. I have shot a video for one of the songs  and it is presently being edited. It would be out in the new year” he narrated to Sunday Entertainment.

Swith Barry plays RnB blend with hip-hop. He also play highlife.

As a singer, “I believe I should be able to understand the  kind of music I play .I do not like to be restricted to one particular kind of music, so I do my songs as the inspiration comes to me.”

I don’t sing just for a particular set of people but for different kinds of people so that they can enjoy good music. In Nigeria today, we see how hip-hop has virtually taken over the space but there are people out there who do not enjoy this music. That is why I am doing what I am doing  presently.”

The upcoming musician claims to be the first emerging musician to mix highlife with hip-hop. “I am  the first artiste to mix highlife and hip-hop together. We are trying to bring back those days into today.”

Young Swith Barry went down the memory lane, narrating how his journey into the world of music started.“It started when I was 10 years old. I remember how my father used to  play some old school songs like Barry White, Oriental Brothers, The Peacocks et cetera. I used to mime and dance to these songs back then.

I went on with it till I was about 11 or 12 years when some musicians came to perform at a wedding reception in my village.” he recalled.
