The Bayelsa State government has warned
that those who fail to register will be sanctioned. said it will The
Secretary to the State Government, Gideon Ekeuwei, disclosed this to
the News Agency of Nigeria yesterday in Yenagoa.
Mr Ekeuwei had earlier said the state
government will constitute a Special Task Force to ensure that persons
who are 18 years and above register to vote in the April elections.
He urged traders, owners and operators of shops, and commercial
enterprises, who yet to register to do so before the weekend. He also
urged banks and other financial institutions to accept the voter card
as a means of business transactions.
