When De Pub came to town, that is the oil city of Warri, Delta state, some were of the opinion, the socialite owner, Andrew Aganbi, was just trying to throw money around and probably just stashing away some dough in an investment that would sooner fold up than it could get off the ground. But these sets of bad-mouths are beginning to eat their words as the owner has come to prove that he is in the business more for passion than for money.
The night-club which is situated inside the palmgroove Hotel has now become the choice spot for moonlighters who are either there to enjoy themselves, party or just to socialise with the high profile clientele that rock the joint.
Recently, a number of touches have been done on the place to make it more endearing to its growing clientele and this includes upping the menu to include continental and intercontinental cuisines. The drinks shelve has also been worked on to include various assortment of exotic drinks which are served with kid gloves.
Every weekend, a galaxy of young and old musicians mount the stage to dish out heart stomping beats and soul-stirring melodies which simply set the place on fire. Notable among the crooners that play regularly is the grandmaster himself, Tony Grey Ozimba and his Unity Band.
