Ekiti customers owe power agency N614m

The Ado-Ekiti
Business District Office of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria
(PHCN), has lamented customers’ refusal to pay their electricity bills,
as it presently stands at N614 million.

The public affairs
officer, Evbotokhai Oarhe, disclosed this in a statement he made
available in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday. According to Mr. Oarhe, the debtors
include government ministries, and their agencies, corporate
organisations, and individuals.

“We appeal to our
esteemed customers to pay their bills promptly and fully, to enhance
the cash collection of the district, and also to enable us serve them
better,” Mr. Oarhe said.

He equally
complained about the spate of vandalism of PHCN equipment in the
district, warning those indulging in such negative act to desist from
doing so.

Mr. Oarhe promised
that the company will “reward handsomely” whoever assists in
apprehending any of the vandals. He further called on government at all
levels, community leaders, and security operatives in the state to
support PHCN in protecting its facilities.
