The All
Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has presented the best candidates
capable of winning the forthcoming elections in Anambra State, Peter
Obi, governor of Anambra State has said.
Mr. Obi, who stated
this during a visit to the electrical dealers international market
Obosi Wednesday, urged the traders to vote for the former information
and communications minister, Dora Akunyili, who he said would give them
adequate representation in the senate.
While thanking the
traders for their continued support to his administration, he reminded
them of the need to vote credible candidates.
“You need to elect candidates capable of quality representation and who can cue into the new order in the state,” Mr. Obi said.
The chairman Board
of Trustees of the market, Pius Okoye, noted that Mr. Obi resuscitated
the state’s economy and repositioned the commercial sector. He said
that Mrs Akunyili staked her life for others to live and deserved the
total support of everybody in her present aspiration.
In her speech, Mrs
Akunyili gave assurance she would work closely with the governor to
attract more federal government presence to compliment the achievements
recorded by the governor.
The campaign train
also visited Old Motor Spare parts market, in Obosi, where the chairman
of the market, Ifeanyi Okafor, expressed gratitude to the governor for
his various interventions in the market including the construction of
the access road, borehole water scheme, 5 million naira financial
support when the market was gutted by fire, and a 500 KVA transformer.
