The governor of
Plateau State, Jonah Jang and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
gubernatorial candidate for the April polls, has warned his supporters
against rigging the elections for him.
Mr Jang, who handed down the warning in an address to PDP supporters
at a campaign rally in Jos on Wednesday, literarily cursed whoever
contemplated such. “If anyone rigs election, it is not for me or the
PDP but for himself and he must give account of his stewardship to the
law of the land and will also be answerable to God. “In fact, any INEC
election material that is not exhausted must be returned to INEC, there
is not going to be anything like sharing them among the party
candidates,” he declared. Mr Jang pointed out that the country is in
another election year and the nation’s democracy is fast developing but
cautioned that politicians must play the game according to the rules if
the nation’s democracy must succeed.
