Some offices of the
People’s Democratic Party and Congress for Progressive Change have been
burnt by rival party supporters in Hadejia, Jigawa State.
The News Agency of
Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the supporters clashed when one of the
Senatorial candidates for Jigawa Northeast District, Abdulazeez Turabo,
was campaigning at a rally.
The Police Public
Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdul Jinjiri, told NAN in Dutse on Thursday
that the candidates obtained permission before embarking on the rally.
Mr Jinjiri said “as I speak to you, we are yet to carry out any arrest and nobody was killed or injured in the skirmishes.”
He however, said that full scale investigation will be carried out ascertain those involved in the violence.
