Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State is to receive the Housing Man of the Year 2011 Award in recognition of his numerous contributions to the development of the housing sector in Yobe State and the country at large.
Gaidam, during his first term in office was said to have built over 5,000 housing units for the civil servants of the state at subsidized rates ranging from between N350, 000 to 1million naira.
The award is scheduled to be presented to Gaidam during the 5th Abuja Housing Show/ Roundtable meeting on National Housing Fund and Challenges of Home Ownership for Nigeria Workers holding in Abuja.
The coordinator of the Abuja Housing show 2011, Fesadeb Communications Limited, through its chairman Mr Festus Adebayo disclosed this to newsmen in Kaduna, adding that the housing development award is an annual award programme for honouring, recognising and encouraging those who have contributed to the development of housing sector in Nigeria.
According to Mr Adebayo, the show which is scheduled for the 21st-22nd June, 2011 will take place at the International Conference Centre Abuja and is to feature about 30 exhibitors in the housing sector. He added that, it is organized with the support of Platinum Savings and Loans Limited, House of Representative committee on housing and Property Reporters Association of Nigeria.
