Against all odds to shelve information regarding his redeployment as the Presidential spokesman, President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday formally briefed Mr. Ima Niboro, his erstwhile Special Adviser on Media and publicity that he would be reassigned to head a new department.
As at press time, the new portfolio assigned to Niboro was still vague, But LEADERSHIP, our sister publication had reported on Friday that Niboro may be replaced with Mr. Reuben Abati, Editorial Board Chairman of The Guardian
To this effect, a Presidency source who confided in LEADERSHIP SUNDAY said reports that Abati may, this week, be named the President’s new spokesperson, following plans by the president to give Niboro a new portfolio.
This, according to the impeccable who insisted not to be mentioned, was the outcome of a succinct meeting President Jonathan had with Niboro, in which he (Niboro) officially briefed of Jonathan’s decision to move him to another duty post.
Abati, a newspaper columnist, was born November 7, 1965 in Abeokuta, Ogun State. A first class honours graduate of Theater Arts from the University of Calabar where he won the Vice-Chancellor’s prize for the best overall graduating student, Abati’s column appears steadly on the popular Nigerian website known as Nigerian Village Square (NVS).
