An Islamic non government organisation, Rasulul A’azam foundation condemns recent bombings of innocent civilians and places of worship happening in some parts of northern Nigeria.
This is part of a statement issued by its spokesman, Sheikh Saleh Zaria. He said Islam is a religion of peace that propagates its mission with due process as taught by the Holy
Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.A). He urges all fellow Muslims to embrace each another in a bid to liberate the true mission of Islam. The foundation is an umbrella of the followers of the noble School of Ahlul-bait (as), which symbolize the values of the noble household of the Holy prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The statement further says there will be a free blood donation exercise to the poor and needy in the society as part of activities marking the birth of one the noble descendants of the Prophet (SAW), Imam Mahdi (as).
The one day programme, according to the statement will feature lectures and a few activities to mark the birthday of this great imam. “The programme, which is coming at the middle of the month of Sha’aban, is another remarkable to all Muslims throughout the world.
It marks the noble birth of our last and present Imam among the kindred of the holy Prophet (SAW), we use the occasion to donate free blood to the poor needy as a token to our sacrifice to his noble cause and greater missions.
By this statement, we invite all Muslims to attend this great event, which is scheduled to take place in Women Multi-purpose centre, Kaduna on Saturday, July 16, 2011.” Said Sheikh
Zaria.
Highlighting some of its objectives, the National Coordinator of the foundation, Sheikh Nurr Das said, Rasulul A’azam, which is a non governmental Islamic organisation, has its base in Kano city with many branches in various cities across the nation, which was founded in the year 2005 and has a registered certificate with Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria.
“The fundamental mission of the foundation is to contribute in the development of Islam, ensuring peace and harmonious co existence among the citizenry and maintaining the viable economic prestige independent and sovereign Nigeria.
It also aimed at upholding the rule of law and equality among the citizens as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria through the guide and teachings of Islam as transmitted by the holy family of the noble prophet Muhammad (SAW),” said Das.
Some of the laudable objective of the foundation, the statement further said it aims at preaching the Religion of Islam according to the practice of the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the infallible Imams of the Ahlul-bait (a.s).
Sheikh Nurr further says, Nigeria, having being a multi-cultural state with devise ethnic and religious country needs to be an endowed environment that will harbour all patriotic citizenry for national development.
He said, this is a natural gift from Almighty Allah (SWT), Who created all of us under the same roof. “We therefore have to be tolerant with each other and respect the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for National stability and development.” He said.
Adding that no community in the world will progress without educational evolution.
He urges all Muslims to cuddle the education as their core vision in moving this country ahead. He said over the years, his foundation emulate other Islamic sects in organisation an annual Maulid (birthday) of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
According to him, the programme comes in the Islamic Month of Rabi’ul Awwal, which is considered by all Muslims in the world as the Month of unity.
Adding that the Maulid programme is meant to bring together all Muslim denominations to eschew their differences and exhibit the Islamic culture of tolerance, love and brotherhood not only to their Muslim counterparts but also to their Non Muslim neighbours as was taught and practised by the holy Prophet (SAW) and Ahlul-bait Imams (as).
“We usually hold this programme every year at our Headquarter in Kano as well as our branches and chapters across the nation, it is a platform on which we discuss national issues concerning Muslim unity and their progress.” Said the coordinator.
Also lamenting some of the achievements recorded by the foundation, Sheikh Saleh Zaria said, Rasulul A’azam’s laudable triumphs cannot be over emphaised. In 2004 and 2005, according to him, their members in Gombe state were able to curtail the outrage of religious violence in the state as a result of Jos crises, by meeting the Christian youth with aim to map out strategy to control the information flow within the general public and among the adherents of both religions.
We stand hitherto, the only Islamic organisation that got a letter of recommendation from Gombe state Ministry for youth and Social Development for such a giant stride.
