South-South Youth Movement for Non-violence, yesterday called on the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Chibuzor Ugwoha, to intensify the developmental projects being carried out in the Niger Delta region by his administration and improve the fortunes of the people.

In a statement jointly signed by the national president, Hon Ndubuisi Emmanwori and national secretary, Kingsley Wuke, after their national congress in Abuja, the group noted that the projects executed by Ugwoha since he assumed office as the MD are unprecedented and urged him to continue on his the good work.
They described the NDDC managing director as a true technocrat and a patriotic Nigerian who had brought his wealth of experience to bare in the administration of the NDDC.

Some of the projects executed by the NDDC according to the youth leaders from six states include the construction of internal road networks and bridges, shore protection, healthcare programmes, provision of electricity, youth empowerment and other human capacity development initiatives.

The group condemned the attacks on Ugwoha by the people they described as detractors, and urged him to remain focused in his desire to transform the Niger Delta region and its people.?
They further called on President Goodluck Jonathan to ignore the calls in some quarters for the sack of Ugwoha and allow him to continue the good work in the commission.
