Kaduna Handball Camp In High Spirit

Saudi-based 25-year-old Nigerian national Handball team captain, Emmanuel David, has described the team spirit in the handball camp in Kaduna as high. He said this while speaking with the press on the team’s preparation ahead the All African Games schedule for Maputo this year.

“There is no dull moment here, we are highly motivated, Kaduna is the place to camp, our camp commandant is wonderful, he is “spoiling” us a little, and above all we appreciate the National Sports Commission for what they are doing for us, we will do our best to make the nation proud in Maputo.”

According to David, they are experiencing positive change of attitude and mentality camping in Nigeria for the first time and feeling at home.

David said the handball team is like a family since they do not discriminate about who is a home or foreign based player as all what they are aiming at is one particular goal, to win medals for the country, during the games in Maputo.

Female captain of the handball team, Okezie Peace Chizoba, who plays for Grasshoppers handball club of Owerri, said she is happy with the situation in their camp. According to her, the girls see their going to Maputo as a great challenge and would want to use it to create an impact by winning medals in the game and make Nigeria proud.
