Super Eagles chief coach, Samson Siasia has showered encomium on the Flying Eagles and their handler, John Obuh. He described the team’s 3-2 loss to France in a dramatic quarter-final clash on Sunday’s night as unfortunate. But promised to drag some of the Colombia 2011 players to the Super Eagles.
“For me, the guys did very well. Kudus to the coach for working very hard to keep the boys in good shape and perform the way they did. They were not disgraced. It is just unfortunate that they lost to France the way they did. That is football, you win some and lose some,” he stated.
Siasia, who led Nigeria to the final of the 2005 edition of the championship held in Netherland before losing the trophy to Lionel Messi inspired Argentina pledged to give some of the players who distinguished themselves at the biannual youth soccer fiesta opportunity to be part of his new look Super Eagles. “We are in a building process and as time goes on, I will call some of them who really impressed me to try them and see if they can be part of the team we are trying to build.”
The Flying Eagles on Sunday lost 3-2 in a dramatic 120 minutes encounter and bowed out of the tournament after a 100 percent record.
