Armed Robbers yesterday attacked the chairman/publisher of Vanguard Newspaper, Mr Sam Amuka-Pemu in the early hours of yesterday at his Anthony village residence.
Mr. Amuka was said to have been attacked by three masked men who had trailed him and his wife to their home drove in their grey coloured Honda Accord car with Registration No. CF 411 FST.
A source said that when the robbers got into the compound, the first thing they did was to lock the security man in his own apartment while he and his wife were led to the living room.
Amuka, who later reported the matter to the police, said that the robbers demanded for a N100m from him but could only get N500,000 which was the only cash he had at home.
The publisher also said that the hoodlums made away with other valuables like his Honda Accord car, mobile phones, his laptop and several office documents.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Yahubu Al-Kali immediately communicated with the publisher to ascertain that he was in good condition.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Tunde Shobulo visited the scene of crime and took away the security guard for interrogations.
