The head of the green technology division, Simba Group, Mr. Ajeet Bats, has said that the Solar lantern, the solution to the biting scarcity of petroleum by-products and the power problem in the country, and a substitute for the expensive kerosene lanterns will save power.
The solar lantern, christened ‘Sun King’, provides light through high-efficiency light-emitting diodes (LEDs) powered by a solar panel which comes as part of the lighting kit, for up to 16 hours without being connected to the solar panel while in use.
In a press release made available to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND on Thursday, Bat said that users can safely charge the product even when they are away from home.
“Well, besides saving you some money, the Sun King is a continual source of light.? Imagine never needing to get up to switch on the generator, go buy fuel, switch on the torch, maintain emergency lights, or depending on where you live, go find firewood.
“We have talked to lots of users and it is clear that the product has transformed lives.? Most of our customers are repeat-customers who have tried the product and wish to share their benefits with loved ones.? The most important thing is that the product has been classed ‘outstanding and environment friendly’ by both the World Bank and the United Nations Environmental Protection Agency”.
The lantern, he said, does not emit fumes, rather, it produces clean light, unlike candles and lanterns, which makes it harmless to the eyes and the respiratory system.
He also said that there is no risk of fire if the lantern falls over.? This, he said, eliminates the risk of damage to both property and life.
