Super Eagles chief coach, Samson Siasia has commiserated with the families of Ladi Martins and Jibola Oni on the sudden death of their sons. Siasia has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of Ladi, the older brother of Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins and the late sports presenter of Sports Radio, Brila FM, Jibola Oni. “I came back from Colombia at the U- 20 World Cup and the botched Ghana friendly in London to hear of Obafemi’s older brother, Ladi’s death.
I know how terrible Obafemi would feel and he is still feeling for the sudden death of his older brother who I heard was very dear to him. “I commiserate with him as my player and I also pray that Almighty God grants him and the rest of the Martins’ family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of their dear son and brother, Ladi. On Jibola’s demise,
I was devastated because he was very close to me. He always disturbs me every time seeking to hear one or two things concerning the Super Eagles. He was very devoted with his work, very lively and energetic. It is so, so sad to lose this young and enterprising sports journalist at just 27 years. I also pray that God grants his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
