The Acting Governor of Niger State, Mr. Ahmed Musa Ibeto has urged Muslims to sustain the ideals of the month of Ramadan beyond the Ramadan period and use Id-El Fitr to pray for solution to the nation’s security challenges.
Ibeto who spoke through the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Danladi Ndayebo urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in the worship of Allah and to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW) as they did during the month of Ramadan.
He tasked Muslims and non Muslims alike to continue to uphold the ideals of piety, patience, tolerance, perseverance, humility and self denial which were observed vigorously during the month of Ramadan.
The Acting Governor said that Id-El Fitr celebration should be seen by all as another opportunity to remain devoted and submissive to the will of the Almighty Allah.
He said that those who were alive to witness the Id-El Fitr should be grateful to God since some people who witnessed the beginning of the holy month were not alive to witness its end.
Ibeto called on Nigerians to use the period to pray to Allah to provide solution to the security challenges facing the country.
The Acting Governor also used the opportunity to reiterate government’s commitment to the service of humanity while calling on all the people to support the state’s vision of becoming one of the top three most developed state economies.
