Following the incessant bomb blasts and the recent kidnapping of the father of one of Super Eagles players Mikel Obi, security operatives are not taking chances with the safety of the players in the wake of the recent United Nations building bomb blasts in the nation’s capital Abuja. The team is also camping in Abuja at the Transcorp Hilton hotel.
To this end, a team from the police anti-bomb squad has been detailed to the team, and they have been regularly inspecting the team’s bus before the squad enters into the vehicle.
Although the Transcorp Hilton Hotel lodgings of the squad has a military presence at all entrances, officials say extra care is being taken with the Super Eagles to forestall any incidents.
