Gombe State Deputy Governor, Mr. David Miyims Albashi, yesterday left the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe, for the National Hospital, Abuja, from where he was said to have been airlifted to Germany for more medical treatment.
The deputy governor, who was recently involved in ghastly auto crash, was said to have been injured, and had been taken abroad for better treatment.
A source close to the deputy governor, however, denied the information and said that the sick man was still in Nigeria receiving the treatment at the National Hospital Abuja.
He stated that if not for planned strike by workers of the FMC, Gombe, the deputy governor would still have been receiving treatment there, and said he was on the recovery path.
Another source however said that the deputy governor was transferred to the National Hospital, Abuja, where he would receive more specialist attention. He however noted that if it was thought necessary, Albashi would be flown abroad.
Last week, Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo revealed that the government had already sought the medical advice on his deputy’s condition and was waiting for the outcome to ascertain what was best for his treatment.
