The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has inaugrated a new electronic bill payment system to address the challenges arising from utility bill payment.
Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja yesterday, the Permanent Secretary (FCT), Dr. Biodun Olorunfemi, said the electronic bill payment system was a more innovative way to conveniently pay bills for FCTA services.
He added that the system would improve service delivery and enhance transparent Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) collection and accountability.
He said, “This launch is a direct result of improved service delivery, efficient systems and transparent IGR collection.”
?The prm. sec disclosed that the new system would consolidate services across 14 Secretariats, Departments and Agencies (SDAs) of the FCTA which would add greater speed and efficiency for the customers, and in turn help the FCTA to keep a real time track of its revenue collections.
“Until now, payments for FCTA services such as water and waste bills had to be done only by a physical visit to the few payment points provided by the administration. But with this, residents can pay their bills from the comfort of their homes” he added.
Olorunfeemi explained that the FIGRA online payment system would start off with four services: AGIS – Legal Search and Land Application; Water Board- Monthly Water Bills; AEPB – Solid/Liquid Water Bill and DOT – Registration of Business Premises.
He said, “FIGRA allows customers to see services they would like to make payments for at a glance and they can pay either through a credit/debit card, e-wallet or designated banks.”
He urged residents to log on to www.figra.fct.gov.ng? and follow the easy steps outline to pay for utility services rendered by the administration.
