Not long? after a brutal robbery attack, in his Ojudu house? leaving one of his aides? killed on the spot, Daddy Showkey was attacked again last week by gunmen.
During the attack that took place in the early hours around 1.30 am, the gunmen attempted to access Showkey’s residence through the main gate but could not as guard dogs barked ceaselessly to alert the musician and his neighbours. Witnesses said the gunmen were defiant and continued to shoot in the air for three hours before they later left in annoyance and promised to return.
?Daddy Showkey who spoke in annoyance said he “might be forced to take up arms against the attackers because the Ajegunle people will not watch me being killed.” He also stated that he has been receiving death threats from strange callers, “I have informed people about it. I don’t know that they will go to this length.”
Showkey confirmed the incident and later reported the matter at the Ojudu Police Divisional Headquarters. In a recent interview, Showkey claimed that he is a staunch supporter of
Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Lagos State and that he is not sure if the attacks are politically motivated or not.
