The House of Representatives may today announce the Leader of the House and complete the membership of the body of principal officers.
LEADERSHIP also learnt that Hon Mulikat Akande-Adeola will be the announced? as the Leader of the House. She had lost the speakership to Hon. Aminu Tambuwal.

Mulikat? is said to enjoy the support of the leadership of the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which had demanded that she be elected as the leader of the House. Our correspondents also leant that the? deal was part of a peace agreement between the party, the speaker and his deputy, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

Members of the House had resisted the ‘imposition of a leader’ but finally gave in to the demand of the party.
The PDP caucus of the House are to meet at 9am today to conclude all issue related to the selection. PDP has majority of members in the House.
Also,? the Speaker of the House, Hon. Tambuwal, yesterday, named 46 lawmakers who would oversee constitution amendments for the seventh session of the House.

The 46-man review committee, which is to be chaired by the deputy speaker, Hon. Ihedioha, with representation spreading across all the states of the federation, was revealed at yesterday’s?? plenary.
The composition of the committee includes nine principal officers and 37 other legislators.
Also, the lawmakers adopted a motion rescinding its earlier decision for mass resurrection of bills passed by the last House and opted for each bill to be resurrected on its own merit.

The lawmakers had on July 26, adopted a resolution which resolved that outstanding bills from the preceding House? that had been read a third time but awaiting Senate concurrence be circulated and reconsidered in committee of the whole without being gazetted.
The motion, which was unanimously adopted, followed a unanimous opinion that the motion and its explanations were straight-forward.
On the recent Ibadan floods, which reportedly claimed 102 lives and displaced thousands, the lawmakers agreed that they would send a delegation to Oyo State on a condolence visit as well as to undertake an on-the-spot assessment to provide needed appropriation and budgeting.
