The vice-president, Alhaji Namadi Sambo has challenged political office holders to always exhibit the virtues of good governance for them to be positively remembered and honoured.
He said this? Tuesday night at a dinner reception organised in honour of former governors of Gombe and Kwara States, Alhaji Danjuma Goje and Dr Bukola Saraki, respectively.
He noted with delight the tremendous achievements recorded by the two former governors during their? eight year tenure.
?“Dr Bukola Olusola Saraki? left an indelible mark in the annals of governance and politicking in Kwara State? to which his successor is trying hard to attain. ?
“The various electrification projects, agricultural revolution, construction and rehabilitation of critical infrastructure and many, many other projects which we have seen some on the screen rendered during his tenure are landmarks worth noting. ?

“Alhaji Danjuma Goje, the immediate past governor of Gombe State popularly referred to as the `Bulldozer ‘ earned this sobriquet from his admirers for the wonderful transformation of Gombe State during his tenure from a relatively unknown rural state to a sub-urban commercial city. ?
“He has, within his stay, made major strides in electrification, housing, water supply, urban and rural roads construction and rehabilitation, health care delivery and educational development.’’

The vice-president expressed the hope that the duo’s entry into the Senate would help to enrich their legislative experience.
He urged them to assist in ensuring the successful execution of Federal Government’s transformation agenda to the glory of God and the admiration of Nigerians.
Sambo commended the organiser of the event, for honouring “some selected distinguished Nigerians that have served their country diligently, which feat is not only to be envied but to be encouraged as well.(NAN)
