Arsenal and Bolton will be meeting today at the Emirate Stadium, both sides would be battling to avoid being pushed to the bottom of the English Premier League (EPL).
?
It has been a terrible start to the season for Arsene Wenger’s side, following, the exit his inspirational skipper, Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri to Barcelona and premier league rival, Manchester City, respectively before the start of the current season. The embattled Londoner have not shown sign that they may be on the road to recovery after a shocking defeat to Blackburn last weekend.
?
Bolton on the other hands are on the fight for survival in the EPL with three losses already recorded this season. This match no doubt would be very vital to them as a win would to give either side hope for the future, while a loss will force either side to spiral out of control the more.
?
Arsenal have managed a win out five premier league games they have played this season, losing three, including the 8-2 demolition from league leaders, Manchester United at Old Trafford. Arsenal need to prove a point to the rest of their EPL opponents that they are not mere push over.
?
Arsene Wenger last weekend admitted that his side has suffered a terrible start to the season, after the Gunners were disintegrated in their game against Blackburn. Wenger’s men were in control at half-time, leading 2-1 and creating many chances, before they crumbled to a 4-3 defeat including two own-goals from Alex Song and Laurent Koscielny.
?
The defeat means that the Gunners are left with just four points from five games in the league this season, their worst start since 1996. They have also conceded 14 goals, more than any other side in the top flight. “It is terrible; it is just not good enough. Of course we are very frustrated, the spirit in the team is quite willing but if you look at the number of goals we have conceded, that is not good enough,” Wenger said.
?
This game will be a battle of the back lines. Both teams have shown they are susceptible to a huge blowout. Be rest assured, this match will come down to which back line is able to outperform the other.
