EU To Spend 200m Euros On Projects In Nigeria

The European Union (EU) has earmarked 200 million Euros for the execution of various projects in Nigeria.
The EU Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr David Mackae, made the disclosure yesterday in Port Harcourt when he visited Mr Awoye Bob-Manuel, Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

He said the funds would be spent on programmes that would create employment opportunities and improve water supply in the country.
“The EU together with the World Bank will partner with the government to ensure that the problem of unemployment, shortage of potable water supply and sanitation is reduced in the country, especially in the Niger Delta,” news correspondents quote him as saying.
Mackae said that most of the projects would be executed in the Niger Delta.

He urged the government and people of Nigeria to support the EU in its developmental programmes in Nigeria.
Bob-Manuel assured that the Rivers Government would always support organisations that were willing to partner with the state to transformation the Niger Delta.? (NAN)
