Former governor of Kogi State and candidate of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the coming gubernatorial election in the state, Prince Abubakar Audu, has said he is seeking the state’s top leadership seat in order to rescue the state from misrule.
This is just as he expressed confidence that the opposition would sweep the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) out of Lugard House in December.
Prince Audu, who stated this in Lokoja at a stakeholders’ meeting of ACN, said his decision to seek fresh mandate was borne out of his desire to pull the state out of the woods.
He noted that the down-trodden people of the state, who formed the majority, desired a change, and said that unlike the previous elections, the collective will of the electorate would prevail this time around.
He added that if given the mandate in December 3 poll, he would he would reposition the state and put it on sound economic pedestal. He further pointed out that no one would be witch hunted by his government, promising to run an all-inclusive administration that would make life more meaningful for the people.
The ACN standard bearer maintained that the giant strides recorded by the party in the states it governs are known all over the country and beyond, and said Kogi would also be a state to reckon with it went with the ACN.
While thanking the teeming supporters of the party for their unflinching support, which led to his emergence as the candidate of the party,Prince Audu enjoined them to close rank, and work together to achieve the common goal of bringing the desired change in the state.
