Nigeria Air Force (NAF) yesterday decorated 62 officers with various ranks, the largest in the history of promotions.
The newly promoted and decorated officers include six sergeants promoted to the rank of Flight Sergeants, 38 Flight Sergeants promoted to the rank of Warrant Officers while 18 Warrant Officers were promoted and decorated with the rank of Master Warrant Officer.
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Muhammed Dikko Umar, charged the newly decorated officers to see their promotion as a call to greater responsibility and challenges, and urged them to imbibe the spirit of discipline in the discharge of their duties.
“Always strive to achieve greater heights with every sense of discipline and determination; your promotion is a reward for hard work. Do not relent in your efforts to contribute to the growth and development of NAF,” he admonished.
Represented by the? Air Officer Commanding (AOC)? training command, Kaduna, Air vice Marshal? Ibrahim Salihu, the CAS told the newly decorated officers that “to whom much is given, much is expected; nothing less than hard work and dedication will be expected from you.”
Air Marshal Umar expressed his commitment to the welfare of the air officers and promised to give ultimate attention to the welfare of the all air officers to include rehabilitation of their barracks and the provisions of the basic amenities.
“Those of you that are yet to get your promotions, keep on with your good works and it will soon be your turns, because power and promotion come from God,” he said.
