President Goodluck? Jonathan has assured Nigerians that the worsening insecurity of lives? and property in the country is a passing phase, saying? that the country will? soon overcome it as all other great nations have done before attaining their present status.
Jonathan said this yesterday in Abuja while speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the Distinguished Flying Star Investiture and Presentation of Flag to Mobility Command Parade held in honour of Retired Senior Officers of Air Rank.
The pall of uncertainty had been hanging over the polity in the wake of incessant bombing by the dreaded Boko Haram sect coupled with the threat from the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) which forced the Federal Government to observe the Independence Day Celebration without any fanfare.
Jonathan said, “I encourage all Nigerians to remain steadfast, vigilant and optimistic, bearing in mind that the endeavour of building a great nation can never be without challenges.
