First Civilian Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, and the septuagenarian designer of the Nigerian Flag, Pa Akinkunmi Taiwo, have been tipped as winners of the first Continent of Africa Heroes award.
Put together by Fame Afriquee International, Chief Coordinator of the project, Miss Roshidah Sanusi said the individuals were picked for their outstanding performance.
Speaking in respect of the former governor, Sanusi said research had shown that Jakande remains the best governor to rule Lagos State, adding that his landmark development strides in Lagos were difficult to ignore.
She described Pa Akinkunmi Taiwo as a Nigerian who has made immense contribution to the development of Nigeria as a nation, adding that the man who recently celebrated his 70th birthday deserves more than what the Nigerian state has given to him.
The award, which is in several categories, will feature the late Afrobeat king, Fela Anikulapo Kuti and the late Lady of Song, Christy Essien Igbokwe as winners.
