The? Seme Border Command of? Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said that it generated N635. 9 million revenue in the month of September, 2011.
Area Comptroller of Customs, Alhaji Sadiq Sahabi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Seme yesterday that the amount represented total receipts during the month.
He said that the revenue was generated from duties, taxes, levies, fines and Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed on goods imported through the border.
Sahabi said that 22 seizures, whose Duty Paid Value (DPV) was estimated at N92.4million, were made during the period.
He said that the two suspects that were arrested during the month had been convicted for smuggling.
NAN reported that the command had already surpassed its revenue target of N6 billion for 2011.
