Suspected Fulani herdsmen have launched a fresh onslaught on Guru Village in Maru local government of Zamfara State, making away with away heads of cattle.
The attackers invaded the village at the early hours of the night, shooting in to the air to scare the villagers. Though no life was lost but eye witness said that the villagers gave the invaders a hot chase to recover their stolen cows, and after about four hours, the suspected Fulani men abandoned the stolen cows and fled.
The village head of Guru reported the incident to the Emir of Dansadau, and many blamed the attack on lack of security.
The attack came barely two weeks after the suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded the area and killed about 20 people in a shooting spree, in what is seen as battle between the vigilante groups and the cattle rearers who vowed never to allow any body to rear cattle in the area.
