National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara? State capital, yesterday? upheld the victory of Senator Bukola Saraki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 9 Kwara Central senatorial election.
The tribunal headed by Justice Bitrus Sanga held that the petitioner had failed to prove the allegations of corrupt practices and non-compliance by Saraki with the 2010 Electoral Act.
?The candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Princess Bilikisu Gambari, had approached the tribunal seeking the nullification of Saraki’s victory on the allegation that
the poll was marred with irregularities.
