?The Action Congress of? Nigeria (ACN) in Kwara has said that it will? appeal the verdict of the Election Petitions Tribunal on? Kwara South Senatorial District.
The party said this in a statement issued in Ilorin sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State yesterday? by its chairman, Mr Kayode Olawepo.
“ The party disagrees with the judgment because the tribunal had disallowed the petitioners from tendering their documentary evidence.
We disagree with the decision of the panel and we will exercise our right of appeal,’’ the statement said.
It? also quoted Anu Ibiwoye, the petitioner,? as saying that? the judgment ignored some of? the party’s pleadings which were supported by authorities.
“Also, documents that were already pleaded and which would have allowed us to prove our case were not admitted by the tribunal. We have already appealed some rulings earlier given by the tribunal and we will also appeal this one,” Ibiwoye was quoted as saying.
Justice Bitrus Sanga-led three-man tribunal had on Monday validated the victory of Sen. Simeon Ajibola in the April 9 Kwara South Senatorial poll.
The tribunal said it dismissed Ibiwoye’s petition for? a no-case submission. (NAN)
