Worried by the persistent attacks on some villages in Kaduna State by unknown gunmen, the Commissioner of Police, Anti-Bomb Squad, of the Nigeria Police in Lagos, Mr Ambrose Ojemudia Aisabo, has arrived in Kaduna to take stock of the force’s manpower and equipment as well as seek the support of the state governments in combating crime.
The police chief, who is also in Kaduna to sensitize his men as part of his nationwide tour of the various commands, said the security challenges Nigeria was going through was disturbing to the international community and that everyone should work to contain them.
Aisabo was at the Kaduna Government House for a courtesy visit during which he asserted that the incidence of the bombings in the country required the collaboration all tiers of governments across the nation to curb it as the Federal Government could shoulder the task alone.
He solicited the support of the state government through the purchase of certain anti bomb facilities and fast moving vehicles to aid the work of the squad.
The acting governor, Alhaji Muhktar Ramalan Yero, said he had been at the latest scene of such devious act in Saminaka, Lere local Government Areas of the state, where a police station and two commercial banks were sacked, and noted that investigations were ongoing to unravel the perpetrators.
He called on the general public to feed the authorities with useful information that lead to the apprehension of people with ulterior motives in their midst.
He also urged the police to treat the identity of their informants with confidentiality to give them further confidence to aid the police with information. He promised to assist the police chief with every requirement he needed to accomplish his mission.
