Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola yesterday urged all Nigerians to let all vices in the country go away with the spirit of sacrifice that prevailed in the period of the Eid-el-Kabir.

Speaking shortly after praying at the Oke Baale Praying Ground, Osogbo, the state capital, Aregbesola said Nigerians should allow the symbolic killing of rams to mark the end of all vices including corruption, human rights violations, religious intolerance, attacks on government facilities and killing of innocent Nigerians.
?
These vices, the governor stated, have been responsible for the many years of economic stagnation.
?
“We should allow the symbolic slaughtering of rams bring to an end, all our vices. We have for long lived with corruption which has caused us stagnation in this country.
?
“This festival is all about sacrifice and it is meant to be used for purification as well. If we can achieve this in our lives, it is certain that our country will be greater.”

In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheikh Mustapha Ajisafe, asked the congregation to continue to imbibe the culture of virtues being promoted by the Aregbesola administration and added that the promotion of the Omoluabbi concept had helped the state to regain its glory.
