Nasarawa Spends N400m On Construction Equipment For Rural Roads

Nasarawa State Government said it has purchased construction equipment worth N400m for the construction of rural roads and bridges across the state. The construction is expected to commence in December.

Similarly, the government has announced the establishment of the school for the disabled in the headquarters of the three senatorial zones of the state, namely Lafia, Akwanga and Keffi.

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, disclosed this yesterday, in Lafia, while addressing thousands of party faithful and supporters of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), who paid Sallah homage to him.

Al-Makura, who said his administration is worried by the state of roads in the rural communities, said government will embark on direct labour to open up rural roads for the economic transformation of the state.

The governor blamed past administrations in the state for inflating contract figures to the detriment of the poor masses and assured that his administration will not embark on white elephant projects.

He further said that his government will neither collect loans and nor misuse funds but warned politicians not to corrupt political appointees in his administration.
