Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to shun divisive tendencies to promote corporate existence of the country. He also urged the people to maintain harmonious co-existence irrespective of tribe or religion and to highlight areas of common interest.

Obi spoke while receiving a delegation of the Anambra State Muslim Council for the traditional Sallah homage at the Governor’s Lodge yesterday.?

He expressed satisfaction with the peaceful relationship and understanding existing among residents of the state and assured that state government would continue to carry everybody along.

The governor said government would continue to assist pilgrims to the Holy Land and urged them to continue to support government policies and programmes as they were all designed for collective welfare of all.

The member representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Chris Azubogu urged the Muslim faithful to uphold the good teaching of Prophet Mohammed by embracing basic principles of peace and unity as well as shunning all forms of violence.

In an address read by Alhaji Iliyasu Yushau on behalf of the Chairman, Anambra State Muslim Council, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Suberu , the council extolled the governor for his sustained efforts in transforming all sectors through integrated and comprehensive development.?
