Aggrieved workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) Sapele, Delta State, have accused the management? of embezzling the sum of N400 million purportedly released by the state government to upgrade its facilities.

However, spokesman for PHCN, Mr. Atsenuwa Onor, while denying the allegation, added that the management has resolved its differences with the workers on the issue.

The aggrieved workers, however, told newsmen yesterday in Asaba that from 2009 till date nothing positive has come to the station and added that through in- house efforts, they were able to bring STO 1, STO 2, and STO 3 units .

They also said that they approached the Delta State government who released the sum of N400 million to be used to manage the plant.
Spokesman for the aggrieved workers, Gabriel Efe Moses, said that the estate where senior? management staff live cost N58 million including the existing flats which they claimed was renovated for N23 million.

The workers also alleged that the official car of the chief executive officer was repaired with N6 million and the sum of N22million was spent on two new vehicles.
LEADERSHIP learnt that there had been series of complaints of paucity of funds to run the plant? and lamented that in the face of this, the management allegedly tied down N14,000,000 in the store for what was described as “money for metal doctor-doors” that is six small doors lying down not in use.
