?The giant transformation currently going on in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) under the leadership of Abdullahi Dikko Inde has been described as the major reason for the conferment of the National Award of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) on him by President Goodluck Jonathan.
A Kaduna-based businessman, Alhaji Kabiru Kijibta, told journalist that the Customs service has undergone great and giant strides that have never been witnessed in the history of the (NCS).
He said since Dikko’s assumption of office as the CGC, the service has surpassed revenue targets, generating over N100 billion above the targeted sum of N500 billion. He attributed this to the zero tolerance approach and transparency qualities of the Customs boss.
? Kijibta further stressed that the Inde had received several awards both within and outside the shores of the country, saying, however, that the conferment of the national award of the CFR marked the turning point in his life as a Customs officer and a Nigerian.
He? said: “I am particularly proud of his records.? You will recall that he has been decorated with the? Member of the Federal Republic? (MFR)? Award, the Officer of the Federal Republic, (OFR) Award, he is thus, the first service chief out of both the military and para-military? organs to be recognised and appreciated three times by the Federal Government’’.
