Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam has said that no act of provocation will deter his commitment to improve on the lives of the people? of the State.
Suswam, who clocked 47 on Tuesday, said that he would embark on live changing projects in a renewed vigour to leave positive and long-lasting legacies in the State.
Delivering a speech at his birthday lecture, in Makurdi, the State capital, he? said that instead of merriment, he thought it was proper to bring in critical minds to reflect on how the State has fared in the past and what could be done to drive it forward.
The Governor pointed out that transparency, equity and fairness were his watchwords even as he admonished politicians to imbibe same in order to think of policies that would boost the economy of the country.
Suswam called on youths not to allow themselves to be used by self-seeking politicians to truncate the relative peace the State was presently experiencing.
Chairman of the occasion and Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi , commended Governor Suswam for using the limited resources accruing to the State to achieve the level of physical development noticeable in the? state.
Thr Rivers State Governor observed that Suswam was on the right path as infrastructure, poverty reduction and maintenance of peace and security were the hallmark of development.
Other dignitaries who spoke at the occasion included the deputy governor, chief Steven Lawani , Senator Barnabas Gemade.
In their separate remarks, they commended the governor’s performance in office and described it as a demonstration of transformational leadership.
The event attracted Suswam’s friends, associates, party faithful, the military and the academia.?
