Confusion yesterday gripped ranks of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in Bayelsa State over the order by the State Ministry of Education for the closure of private and Public schools as tension heightens over the deployment of armed soldiers and mobile Policemen to the state.
The order, issued at the weekend by the State Commissioner of Education, Prof Tuemi Asuka was revoked yesterday following alleged pressure from the Federal Ministry of Education.
Leadership gathered that the decision of the State Government was necessitated in the wake of the tension generated by last Saturday’s Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)? governorship primaries in the state.
