?Those who visited the Ikoyi home of the late media guru included former Minister of Transport, Alhaji Umaru Dikko, former Military Governor of defunct Western Region, Maj-Gen. Adeyinka Adebayo (rtd).??

?Others include former Chief of Naval, Staff, Vice Admiral Akin Aduwo, two former chiefs of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Alani Akinrinade and Chris Alli, Chairman of? Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Chief Nduka Obaigbena.??

Also, former Sole administrator of Ekiti State , Maj.-Gen. Adetunji Olurin, Pro-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Chief Gamaliel Onosode as well as business moguls, Chief Felix Ohiwerei and Oba Otudeko.??

?In their separate chats with newsmen, they all paid glowing tributes to the memory of the deceased whose life? touched the lives of many.??

?Dikko, according to family sources, arrived early and wrote in the register, “May the soul of this very good friend of mine rest in perfect peace.”??

?Aduwo, who described the death as a great personal loss went down memory lane to relate how he had the privilege of attending the same secondary school with virtually all the Ibru brothers.??

According to the former naval chief, his passage is a huge loss to him and the country at large considering the fact that he died at the young age of 66.??

?Alli, who arrived the premises at about 9:15 am, told newsmen, “It is a pitty that he could not realise his leadership acumen which he displayed when he was the minister for Internal Affairs.

He was a man of great intellect and energy.”??
?
?To Olurin who came along with his wife, “He (Ibru) was a great man and I know that he contributed immensely to the development and progress of the country in virtually all spheres of human endeavour? both in private and public capacity.”??

Gen. Adebayo, in his view, extolled the virtue of Ibru whom he praised for being philanthropic in spite of the fact that he was a business man and said “a lot of people would miss him and a lot of people had expected a lot from him before he died.”??

For Obaigbena who arrived exactly at about 2:30 pm in company of the Editorial Board Chairman of This Day Newspaper, Mr. Segun Adeniyi said that his visit was an advance one preparatory to the official visit of NPAN, praised the deceased for his commitment to the ideals of the association.
