Two of the biggest teams in Europe, AC Milan and Barcelona will tonight renew their rivalry at the San Siro. Both teams have already qualified to the knockout stage and a victory for either side will see them top the group. In the first leg at the Nou Camp, Thiago Silva scored a goal late in the game to force a 2-2 draw. The last time Barca played Milan in the San Siro was in the semi final of the 2006 Champions League when a Ludovic Guily strike settled the encounter.

AC Milan drew 0-0 against Fiorentina during the weekend in the league. Former Barca boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic who missed the first leg due to injury is set to play tonight. He will be eager to prove a point to his former employers after he was sold just after a season and in his recent autobiography, he criticised Pep Guardiola and some of his ex-teammates. Milan’s home record has been poor in the Champions League winning just three out of their last 10 home games. Alex Pato, who scored the fastest goal in the history of the Champions League in the first leg is set to feature in this game after missing the last two months.

Barcelona travel to Milan with a proud record of losing just one out of their last eight away games. The club is also the top scorer in this season’s Champions League with 13 goals. Andres Iniesta is ruled out of the encounter due to injury he picked during Barca’s 4-0 home win over Zaragoza at the weekend. Dani Alves is out due to suspension and its likely Puyol will play the right back position with Pique partnering Mascherano in defence. Barca midfielder Sergio Busquet has played down any talk of revenge of Barca players due to Ibrahimovic’s recent controversial statement against the coach and the team.
