Nasarawa State intending Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land of Israel have been challenged to see Nigeria as a better place to live in on earth.
Governor Umaru Al-makura, who said? this yesterday while bidding the pilgrims farewell, said that, “I should also use this opportunity to admonish you not to contemplate defection for there are more opportunities for socio-economic prosperity here at home than elsewhere. “Indeed, as global realities continue to show our country, Nigeria has more advantages than any country in the world”
The governor also charged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors while in the holy land so as to give themselves, the state and the country a good image and name. This was even as he urged them to shun all social vices, capable of tarnishing their reputation.
Al-makura, who pointed out that the call was necessary said,? “you would do well to remember that over the years, pilgrims from Nasarawa State have been adjudged to be self-disciplined, morally upright and of good conduct. I believe that you, too, would uphold and promote these virtues”
He also commended the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), for promoting religious harmony in the state and gave the assurance that he would continue to pilot the affairs of the state irrespective of religious differences.
