Jennifer Hudson has avoided speaking publicly about a number of things -? the horrific murders of her mother and brother, and her drastic weight loss, but in a rare moment of candour shes opened up about why she believes her life was spared that fateful day in October 2008.
It was her fiancé, David Otunga, who inadvertently kept Hudson out of Chicago, because he implored her to visit him in Florida where he was working with the World Wrestling Entertainment.
“That’s one of the things that saved my life, because I could have been home with my mom then,” Hudson said in an interview in the December 2011/January 2012 issue of Ebony.
“He wanted me to come out to Florida with him, instead of going to Chicago, so I flew out to see him; that’s why I am still here. I have never said that before, and I can not believe I just said that now. But I didn’t know.”
Otunga is a Harvard-trained attorney and professional wrestler, and the father of Hudson’s 2-year-old son, David Jr.
Hudson has been hesitant to relive that day, but has said that the aftermath of the killings of her mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, was “a blur” and “ so surreal.”
Well, guess we all have to seat back and await the weight loss secrets, then, won’t we?
