Kogi State Governor Ibrahim Idris has donated 63 Hilux Vehicles to security agencies in Kogi state.
Making the presentation in Lokoja, the governor said the donation of the vehicles was meant to fight crime in the state.
He urged the security agencies to ensure adequate security before, during and after the Saturday governorship poll, so as to sustain the existing peace in the state.
The governor further stressed the need for the vehicles to be judiciously used for the purpose intended, urging the security agencies not to relent in crime fighting.
Receiving the vehicles,the Inspector-General of Police (IG),Mr. Hafiz Ringim, expressed the commitment of the security agencies in the country to ensure a hitch-free governorship election in Kogi State.
He assured the people of the state that efforts are being intensified to provide adequate security,by ensuring that the polls are crisis free.
He disclosed that adequate police officers would be deployed to the state,for the governorship election,and warned trouble makers to steer clear.
He assured that the vehicles would be used to provide adequate security in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
