The Acting Rector Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron, Mr. Joshua Okpo has been commended for putting in place necessary facilities in ensuring that the institution becomes one of the best in the world.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transport Engr. Nebolisa who gave the commendation yesterday in Oron when he led officials of the Ministry and other participants of the 11th National Council on Transport to the Academy on inspection tour? of the institution said the? level of infrastructures? on ground was an indication that the Academy is truly on the path of progress.
Engr. Emodi who was elated by Joshua Okpo’s transformation drive commended the Management of the Academy for their teamwork and the level of projects executed in the Academy, while urging them not to relent..
The Permanent Secretary said that capacity development is very fundamental to the nation’s transport sector and expressed optimism that with giant strides so far recorded the aspiration of upgrading the institution to a world-class Maritime University would soon be realised.
He re-affirmed the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Transport to the development of the Academy.
Welcoming the Permanent Secretary and his entourage, the Acting Rector of the Academy Mr. Okpo described the institution as a centre of discipline and academic excellence.
Okpo said that it was through the intervention of the Ministry that the present management was brought in to transform and prepare the institution for greater height.
