National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA has received over 16,500 applications for 18 vacant positions it advertised for in two national daily newspapers.
The new positions which range from clerical assistants to Directors
When LEADERSHIP visited the agency, there were piles of? envelopes believed to contain application letters on the second floor of the office.
A staff of the Agency who spoke on? condition of anonymity, disclosed that some of these applications were accompanied by high profile recommendation letters.
“There are letters from National Assembly members even? Emirs. Infact we regret this advert.”
NITDA which has since its establishment been an agency of the ministry of science and technology has been moved to the communication ministry created in 2011.
The agency is the clearing house for IT projects in the public sector in Nigeria committed to the drive to bring government and its services closer to the people through IT.
