Five months into the tenure of the present legislators at Adamawa State House of Assembly, the state lawmakers, at its sitting yesterday, passed a vote of no confidence on its Speaker, Barrister Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin, representing Fufore/Gurin Constituency and his deputy, Hon. Wale Fwa, representing Demsa Constituency in the state Assembly and impeached the two lawmakers.
Raising issue of urgent attention on the floor of the Assembly at its plenary session yesterday, presided over by the deposed Deputy Speaker, Hon. Wale Fwa, a member, representing Gombi Constituency and the Minority Leader of the House, Hon. Jerry Kundisi said the “vote of no confidence was passed by 22 out of the 25 members of the Assembly who have since lost confidence on the former leadership of the House.”
Following this development and in a unanimous decision, the House elected the former Majority Leader, who had earlier vied for the Speakership seat, Hon. Ahmadu Umaru, representing Madagali Constituency as the new Speaker while Hon. Kwamoti La’ori, representing Numan Constituency emerged as the Deputy Speaker.
